What does DL Surveys do?
DL Surveys (Drone & Land Surveys Limited) is a Hamilton surveying practice. Licensed cadastral surveyors, GIS and photogrammetry specialists handle subdivision, boundary, topographic, drone, as built, setout, monitoring and GIS work across Waikato, Auckland and the Bay of Plenty.
Where is DL Surveys based, and which areas do you cover?
The office is at 27 Meridian Place, Flagstaff, Hamilton 3210, New Zealand. Field work covers Waikato (including Hamilton, Raglan, Morrinsville and Eureka), Auckland, and the Bay of Plenty (including Tauranga and Rotorua).
Are your surveyors licensed in New Zealand?
Yes. Cadastral work such as subdivision, LINZ boundary reinstatement, cross lease updates and title conversion is carried out by licensed cadastral surveyors. That is the licence Land Information New Zealand requires for those surveys.
How much does a land survey cost in Hamilton?
Cost depends on the site, the council rules and the survey type. A fence line identification is a different job from a greenfield subdivision or a drone flight over a large rural block. Quotes are free, and we give a realistic timeframe before any fieldwork starts.
Do I need a boundary survey before I put up a fence?
If marks are missing, the fence looks wrong, or neighbours disagree, a boundary identification or LINZ reinstatement survey is the way to settle the line with evidence. Fences are often not on the legal boundary. Ask us which survey fits before you build.
When is a drone survey better than a traditional topographic survey?
Drone capture is usually faster and more cost effective on large or complex sites, and it delivers a high resolution orthomosaic as well as contours and a terrain model. Tight urban sites, heavy canopy or jobs that need cadastral marks on the ground still suit total station and GNSS. We recommend the method that matches the accuracy you need.
Can you convert a cross lease to a freehold title?
Yes. We convert cross lease titles to fee simple (freehold), and we also update defective flats plans so a sale can proceed. Fee simple is the title most buyers, banks and lawyers prefer, and it typically makes the next sale cleaner.
